Officially endorsed by Doug as a cool guy to fly with

As an afterthought Doug and everyone; many of us have heard of IFR navigation( I Follow Roads). Now we have a new one, IFC( I Follow Contrails)!!!

And thanks for the extra insight on the contrail and other navigation Doug. Interesting.

P.S.- I think I will now name my future personal non-official charts a "Bob Chart" after Bob Beziat (and my Dad Bob and brother Bob of course too!)

I only pray that I get to fly a plane without FMS... like the SF-340B, with only dual VOR/DME/ADF. Talk about FUN!!!

Am I the only one here who HATES GPS?

I know I said my posts will become far and in between, but I managed to wrangle the computer from my family.

Anyhow... all that talk about DR and ADFs got me to thinking about handheld GPSes. Do company regulations not permit the use of those for navigation? Some of those handhelds have just as much accuracy as an in-dash system.

The DE on my IFR checkride said that it's illegal to even carry a handheld on a 135 flight. If it's GPS and it's on a 135 flight it must be installed in the pannel.
