I just got told that if my boss asks how long it will be until I head out (since he did just that recently), I should tell him that I need to stay employed for "for another year or so" because "things are just pretty slow moving right now at about a fourth of my locations". And, "Still nothing for this fiscal year, can't say it might not change, but I wouldn't count on it."

My week just started off on a very depressing note.

I feel your pain....very depressing news. I think there is a lot of us in the same boat from Pubnat 3/4 selection panel back in Jan '09.
did your HR rep offer you a different facility you could switch to?
Hopefully we all will be getting good news sooner than later.....

I wasn't offered anything different, but a lot of that is because my wife won't go anywhere else. All four FAA facilities in the STL "Gateway region" are overstaffed and had their FY2010 hiring numbers reduced to zero, so I couldn't go anywhere in the area. My rep works the central region.

talked to hr yesterday via email im from pubnat 2 and with all this talk of facilities not taking people for fiscal year 2010 i was nervous. She said that MDW Midway Airport in Chicago is taking people and that she will be in touch once she gets all the class dates taken care of for october. that was a big relief. hang in there i know it takes a long time but in the end its worth the wait.

yeah you might just want to ask for that or if you already got an OKC date a FOL is better

I know its a little off topic but since I'm slated for next fiscal year I thought I'd ask.

I called my HR guy today and he said he can't get me a class date until he can secure housing for me once I go to Grand Canyon National Park Airport. Apparently in remote locations such as the Grand Canyon, Some places in Alaska, Nantucket and the Pacific Islands, the FAA provides housing for its employees. Does anyone know if this housing is any good? Something tells me it might be similar to housing on a military base.

If anyone has some info let me know. Thanks

Just Got My OKC Date ! Oct 28 Terminal

My drug clearance expired and my HR gave me a number to call, to redo my test, but it looks like i wrote it wrong

someone hook me up with the Drug Test Hotline

I need to re-take the drug test as well. My HR didn't give me a number to call but instead was mailing the info to me. I asked her if its local and she said yes.

But congrats!

Hey, I don't know if yours will be the same since you are probably in a different facility area, but mine was through EMSI and the phone # HR gave me was 1-866-236-3674. I just had to give them my SS#, name and ZIP code and they scheduled me for the same day at my nearest location, which was only 10 minutes away. It was pretty smooth actually. (Probably the smoothest part of the whole process thus far.. :drool:)
