Official PUBNAT2 Referral List

Ohh yeah, this is now Confirmed: "the only Real way to influence where you will be sent in your Geo-Preferences is to Influence one of the 3 regional Managers, they are the only 3 that do the Hiring for their Regions." Apparently they do read the Comments section on your Geo-Preferences, but do not give it much consideration, it won't hurt, but don't expect much from it..... Now, they did suggest that you could go and tour the Facility of your Choice, and try and influence that facilitie,s Facility Manager to influence the Regional Manager.

And also, Include ALL work experience on your application, every little bit of expereince helps.... if your package is identical to the next, i.e. Both Well qualified, both Veteran Preference, both have a Bachelors Degree, etc.... And you show that you have Continuos Employment, even if it is part time, temporary, seasonal, etc. and don't have any "Blank Spots", and the other guy does, you will get hired before the other guy.

Hey thanks for the information.. I can confirm that you are correct about having to influence Regional managers. I spoke with a manager who told me that he dropped my name to a person who represented his terminal region. I am hoping that works because this is somewhere I want to go.

As for the pepc dates.. I spoke earlier about the tentative dates my source gave me. November 17 is going to be in LA. I haven't heard an update on the October date that was supposed to be in New York. I guess thats why my source called them tentative. If I get some more info...on that...i will post it.

Anyways...good luck man...

Was anybody able to list more than 5 jobs under the work history tab?

So are you saying that there is NO chance that a Qualified will make it through? Do you know anything about the hiring in the SOUTH?

Ok guys, everybody is posting what their connection has told them. And as I try to put all of these sources together some things just don't make any sense. So a few questions...

A: Did en-routers get considered at panels along with tower earlier this month?

B: When can we really expect our first pepc?

C: If you applied for pubnat 2 are you referred for pubnat 3?

D: Does anyone feel like this right now?:banghead:

There is a lot of great info. on here...but it seems like some people just say whatever they want b/c it sounds good and get peoples hopes up....

So today at School, one of my CTI professors just got back from a Conference with the FAA about their Hiring and he briefed us on the conference notes, here is a few highlights....The Next PEPC is not going to be until November 17.......:banghead:

So if that is the Case, then the Selection panels for the ARTCC's, and not sending out PEPC invites until after that panel is still timed about right.....

Also, California and Colorado are Hiring really heavily right now, so they specifically said those are about your 2 best bets right now. Also Expect A mass Hiring spree to follow Right after the New Fiscal year, they are getting ready to Hire ALL the remaining CTI's that are eligible and a lot more OTS as soon as the Fiscal year Turns ($$$$).... Ohh yeah, they WILL hire an OTS with a Well Qualified AT-SAT score before the CTI with a Qualified Score. He knew about my situation applying for Both OTS and CTI so he said that he specifically asked about the OTS applications taht are in the chutes right now, and I guess they "Hinted" that they were going to be sending out notifications RIGHT after the first of the month..... again, this is still unconfirmed, I have another source confirming this, but it might take a few days.

Some complaints from the Academy were that students were weak in Aircraft Recognition/Aircraft Categorization/FAA Orders (there are more you will need to know than the 7110.65)/Weather. It is VERY STRONGLY suggested you study those before you get to the Academy.

Some interesting Satistics: only about 85% make it past the PEPC (Medical/Security/Physc DQs), of those, only around 73% of Qualified Applicants make it to CPC, and >90% of Well-Qualified Applicants make CPC. Last year, over 2200 poeple were hired, only about 800 CTI, and less than 400 VRA, the rest were OTS. Right now the total Possible Output of all CTI schools is around 1000 per year (more available as more CTI School Get certified), and the FAA is planning on hiring at least 1400 per year until 2017.

I think that is the majority of the Highlights.... If I think of more, than I will make another Post.
Great,
Thanks for all the info...

One question I had, what is this part referring to? Is there material I can pick up somewhere?

"Aircraft Recognition/Aircraft Categorization/FAA Orders (there are more you will need to know than the 7110.65)/Weather."

Thanks for any help....

A. I believe someone confirmed that the panels earlier this month were just for terminal, meaning enroute panels should be coming up soon. The original date we heard was the week of 9/29 for enroute panels. Right now, only time will tell if that still stands.

B. If enroute really is next week, then the PEPC wouldn't be 10/6 as was originally thought... it just wouldn't be enough time.

C. Although the announcement said if you applied to PUBNAT1 or 2, you're considered for PUBNAT3, the people at Aviation Careers said that was not true and they don't know why the announcement said that.

D. Yes.

So are you saying that there is NO chance that a Qualified will make it through? Do you know anything about the hiring in the SOUTH?

There is Still a chance for Qualified Applicants.... you need to find the states that are Doing the most Hiring and apply for them or apply to states that people do not want to go to. Those states will run out of Well-Qualified Applicants quickly and then switch to highing Qualified applicants. Basically you just need to be more flexible than the rest of us, and if you are, you might even be picked up before some of the Well-Qualified applicants that are really picky about where we want to go.

Great,

Thanks for any help....

The ones with an Asterisk arethe important ones, the others just be Familar with and know what they are.

FAAO 7110.10 - FSS book
*FAAO 7110.65 - ATC Bible
FAAO 7210.3 - Operations and Management of an ATC Facility
*AIM - Aeronautical Information Manual
FAAO 7340.1 - Words and Contractions
FAAO 7350.7 - Locations and Fixes
FAAO 7110.56 - Quality Assurance
FAAO 3120.4 Training

As far as A/C recognitions and Categories, look at the FAAO 7110.65 Appendix A, then look up the aircraft online and be able to identify common A/C by their looks for Terminal guys, and perfromance characteristis for Enroute. Know Weight classes, Categories (I, II, III).

For Weather, Go to www.aviationweather.gov and become familiar with METARs and TAFs..... Know how to read them....

I would put more down, but I am going to be late for work if I do not leave now.... Hopefully other people on here know what I am talking about and can put more suggestions down......

Thanks a bunch!!! Anyone have anymore related info, please post... This was all new to me..

Thanks

Well...that puts me in a bind. If it is true and the first PEPC is November 17, I am assured that my journey may be over. :( The reason being is that my 31st birthday happens to be November 17th. :banghead: The chances of getting PEPC invite is probably low, getting the PEPC date of Nov. 17th is even lower. So it looks like the game may be over for me...however, if I am selected, I will fight like he.. to get the earliest PEPC date, or go non-PEPC if that may be quicker. But I am an optimist, so I will hang in there till the end.

Yes, Aircraft ID is a BIG thing. I would recommend if you have the time and money, and are close enough to take an aircraft rec class at a college. Since this does not apply to most of you, airliners.net they have tests and hundreds of photos of airplanes.
