Heh heh heh...I love how they're showing off the autopilot.

A passenger being talked into a landing will never happen.

Yeah, no crap.

Ah, well, so much for me being able to play hero.

But if it did happen, would they get pissed off at me if I said, screw the autopilot, I'm hand flying this approach? :D

And Keanu Reeves is full of crap -- well, his movies anyway? No wonder he acts as if he's constipated when he's on screen!

Now they're saying "airplanes now are so technologically advanced they can virtually land themselves!"

Yeah, tell that to a Dash 8 pilot.

Well, I missed the first half hour of the show, and there is no mention of the treadmill myth. Did I miss it?

Maybe its sitting on the editing room floor.

Hmmm, I wonder what's up with the Treadmill episode?

Maybe it was a "Myth" that they were going to do it at all?

One thing ATC doesn't have that this sim-driver does is the view of all the cockpit data from his chair. Too bad they didn't mention that little gem.

So they went to New Zealand for this???

In the program, the Mythbusters argued that the scenario where a passenger tries to hand fly the jet, and land it, won't ever happen because of autoland... What if autoland was MEL'd???:bandit:

Okay, so no plane on a treadmill. But there was still some cool stuff.

I wish I could have been in this episode as a test subject. How cool would it have been to do the skydiving or be in that wind tunnel?

Well that sucked. Sorry, guys. I was the messenger telling everyone about the program. No mention at all about the Plane on a Treadmill myth even though it is still on their description for this episode on the official website.

MythBusters
Air Plane Hour
TV-PG

Jamie and Adam take wing to test if a person with no flight training can safely land an airplane and if a plane can take off from a conveyor belt speeding in the opposite direction. Tory, Grant, and Kari jump on some Hollywood-inspired skydiving myths.

But you got to see Kari. He's hot and she's smart.........wait, nevermind :-P

Kari's smart, but I wouldn't call her hot. She's reasonably attractive but I think hot is going a little too far.

Too nerdy for my tastes anyway. I realize that's a turn on for some men, but not for me!

Or a CRJ or ERJ for that matter.

Oh yeah! It annoys me when the CRJ decides to do the push/pull/push/pull dance when in the approach mode on the GS.....not to mention the sometimes snap roll to final when it catches the LOC to track it.
