Just as a side note, as a Riddle Student flying at Epic, you can get the G1000 for $122/hr, or at least last school year you could (and I did this past week). Not that it is that big of a difference, but it helps

I just rented the G1000 C172 from Riddle and paid 118 an hour! (Student rentals are 20% off the airplane).

yes, but you have to put up with dealing with Riddle, the policies, and in general the flight department. I'll pay those 4 dollars an hour more to not deal with that environment.

Full Disclosure - I own the 150 and 152 at Air America.

I was not aware that Spectrum was renting. I might just have to go get checked out in the Comanche. :rawk:
I grew up flying right seat in my father's Twin Comanche.

I don't know that they do. I just pulled numbers off their website. Last year when I went in there, they did say the rented the 172, but I didn't ask about any more.

He means you get 20% off the aircraft (dry I think) during flights that aren't lessons, i.e. flying for fun...You also get a discount for the plane and instruction during holidays, school breaks, and finals week too

If you can get them to rent to you. So, basically, if you show up on Sunday morning, and can run an E6B while hopping around the flight line on one foot while spewing out your flows, you can rent one.

Sunrise Aviation in Ormond Beach just acquired 2 2008 C172 G1000 SPs. They rent them to ERAU students for $133 per hr wet. Since the planes are new to Sunrise, availability should not be a problem.

They also have C152s for $87/hr wet including tax. Older C172s and Seminoles are also available.

Ask for Jeff, the owner, if you want to try for a block discount on any of the planes.
