Metro has a bridge program with American Eagle? Wow, I didn't know that... How does it work? Did you build all your hours instructing there?

Yeah Metro has a bridge program with Eagle. It was reinstated about 2 weeks before I graduated. I actually attended a small community college in Rangely CO and earned my flight certificates - then I instructed there for a year. That brought me up to just under 1000 hours total time. Then I transferred to Metro and took classes that qualified me for the bridge program: Turbo prop flight sim, and airline planning. The bridge requirements are 500TT and 100 Multi. After I graduated I completed the rest of the requirements: get faculty recommendation and complete a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Filled out the application and bam, here I am. My best friend did the same thing I did, except he didn't take the airline planning class. He has an interview with Eagle at the of this month.

Where in Colorado do you live?
 
Thats sounds cool. Do you need an aviation degree from Metro to qualify for the bridge program?

The reason I ask is, I recently graduated from CU, and I'm just starting flying now. After I get the 500 hours could I go take those classes there and get into the bridge program? That would be pretty cool

A bridge program is an agreement between a college and an airline. The airline agrees to interview qualified graduates of the college at lower minimums because the airline believes the school has a good program. It works well because the airline gets good candidates (usually) and the college gets to brag about job placement.
