Training, checkride, and differences are complete. 25 days of the school house are finally over but very worth it. Now a GV/450/550 captain! 2 days off and then back to the line in Moscow. Time to celebrate (in moderation). :)

Good JC friend of mine is off to Gulfstream school himself next week and can't wait to take the new bucket on a long trip with him.

Congrats! Hope you enjoyed your time in Savannah!

What's the celebratory drink of choice? Have the Russians turned you into a vodka aficionado?

Congrats!

I love the G machines. Working the line I have seen G-Is through G-550s. They really build some quality aircraft.

Thanks everyone. It seems that the G-machines are great planes. I would say however that the systems are not new, just new avionics packages dressed around older systems. Gulfstream's mentality was if it is not broke...don't fix it. Seems to be working for them as the plane has a 99%+ dispatch reliability.

Yes cmhumphr, Moscow. Been there 3+ years now. The flying is awesome, the crews are great, the pay is wonderful. Only negative I have is that my schedule is 30 days on and 30 days off. The 30 on, being away from my wife and 5 month old is very difficult. Otherwise the job is not that bad.

Moscow huh? Now that sounds like some awesome experience right there!

Very cool! I read that GoJet thread below this one prior to reading this one so my mind automatically thought you were talking about GoJet the airline. I need a nap.

Nice, sounds like fun.....always have loved Gulfstreams. Chatted with a cool G-5 captain a few months back as I was preflighting, guy had been an A-4 driver in a past life and wanted to talk grey jets. Unfortunately he walked up right as I was choking on some phlegm and I yacked all over the ramp underneath my jet. Probably thought I was some hungover drunken bastard who stayed out too late in PSP the night before....

How's the food in RUS? Have always wanted to try it....

Congrats on the G-Jet!

Do you need an experienced Falcon 2000 EX EASy captain in your Moscow operation?

Ex-Air Force. Looking for a new gig.

Send him a PM. I have never met him but guys say good things about him on here. Im sure he would be willing to help where he could.
