I'm not sure what's "not cool" about a request that JVs be reviewed every 3-5 years. I'd think as long as things were on the up and up, the Legacies wouldn't care at all. Meets the requirements, there's no collusion and no anti-trust violations, have at it. We'll see you again in a few years. I seem to remember Delta guys grumbling a few years ago about how they're losing all this flying to Air France because of a codeshare. Now it seems like they're rushing to defend the very thing that cost them flight hours. I figure the goal of the pilot groups would be to get as much flying on THEIR OWN metal as possible. JVs do the exact opposite of that. I don't have a problem with our codeshare with Emirates. We're not ever gonna be flying to the Middle East (despite the persistent rumors that we're starting JFK-Tel Aviv ANY DAY NOW in our brand new A330s!!!!). However, don't get me started on how we missed the boat on Brazil and the whole Azul thing. I could even see the codeshare with Hawaiian biting us in the rear, too. But, hey, there's an island somewhere with a paved runway we don't service yet. Let's go there.
