North American Airlines votes for ALPA

NAA/ALPA vs. WOA/IBT.

Let the cage match begin!!

GAL management is laughing to the bank, as I opened an industry rag with a full page advertisement basically holding out the company as a single transportation system. (Per the NMB guidance, of course.)

How do you spell "W-H-I-P-S-A-W" again?

Although, as a former member of IBT747, I can fully understand NAA pilot's angst with that local's suckiness.

Why didn't they try and get with IBT 1224?

The die was cast over a year ago. Sowell, the guy who was thrown out as 747's President, had about three different dues schemes going, then he added a demand promissory note for back dues. Not to mention the backroom deals that made him a lot of $$. He ran 747 like a personal kingdom and went ballistic when he found out that the new Airline Division Director was not going to allow him to do so. Even worse when he allowed Kaitta to move to 1224 and took Cape Air away from 747 for the lousy representation they were dealing with.

Former leadership members at NAA who had supported him were also not happy that he was removed and began the drive to decert earlier this year. (Like ATI) Given how badly the former group represented them, it was pretty much expected, even though the new 747 leadership and International had jumped in with both feet to rectify the bad deeds of the past.

I do wish them well. They're walking right into Section 6 with a holding company that will likely offer a substandard contract for growth at the cost of their other airlines, or face whipsawing from them.

Either way, this is going to be a very expensive Section 6.
