NORCAL Approach

No real reason for the post, but I am at work listening to the NORCAL approach "Live ATC Feed" and man are they busy. It is non-stop communication. It is actually a good learning tool (I think). It really helps me with my radio comm. Alright, now back to work. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bandit.gif

Yeah, that live feed is pretty cool. One of maybe a dozen or more sectors in the area. Never seems that busy really, as long as you watch for the folks trying to duck under the Class B, it isn't all that busy. Just don't wait to long to reply, there are a few controllers that you'll hear get real mad at some Bonanza owner or something for not replying right away /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For those that don't know the area, Norcal covers traffic into the San Francisco area. It ends up that a lot of other localized approach controllers got mashed into one big title of norcal. The controllers sit in a building at the former Mather AFB in Sacramento. About 95% of the stuff from San Luis Obispo north is covered by norcal. Other than that, Oakland center covers a few random outlying areas. And Fresno, Lemoore, and Travis pick up what is in their small sectors.
