Nonrev to Hawaii...doable?

You're not going to be able to non-rev out of hawaii right now thi much success. Many carriers doing flights to the mainland are honoring Aloha's customers. That will continue I think for a few months. I would try to priceline a ticket to California and then non rev out of there, if it were me.

we're thinking of getting married in Hawaii in July. Using Delta nonrev does anyone know if July trips to Hawaii are doable or risky at best? also, any reviews of the islands or advice would help. thanks all

Well, normally you would want to non-rev to Hawaii when kids are in school;)

There are risks with non-reving to Hawaii in July, and yes, it certainly is possible as long as you are able to pad days on both ends of your trip, but, for a wedding, I would purchase tickets.

I had buddy passes on Hawaii, on the LAX-HNL flight (Hawaiian 767), we got on, last to board & literally got the last two seats, fortunately we sat together, the night before the flight had 20 open seats.

On the HNL-LAX flight (Hawaiian 767), we were bumped, night before there were 12 open seats, went to the airport hotel, luggage went to LAX (We were confident we were getting on the flight.

Round two, bumped from the HNL-LAX morning flight, night before there 15 open seats.

Round three, got on the noon HNL-LAX, I thought I had no chance to get on this flight, not only did I get on this flight, but, I sat in 1st class. I checked the loads for this flight sometime in the morning, there were about 5 open seats, none in 1st.

This all took place in May, no holidays & kiddies were in school.....

Its high season to HI in the summer time. A friend of mine got stranded there for four days. Flight benefits are great when they work...but when they don't, it starts to suck in a hurry. To be honest with HI I've heard more horror stories than "it worked out great" stories with summertime travel out there.
