Hi folks, non-flying job opening here. The company I work for in Austin, TX is hiring for a software support position. We make a program used by many small and large aviation service businesses to track line sales, work order maintenance, inventory and labor, among many other aspects of running an aviation service operation.

This is a great job for people who are interested in aviation and enjoy talking to others who work in the field. This is also well-suited to people who are naturally good with computers and can help others learn how to use software.

Full details of the listing and how to apply can be found at: http://www.corridor.aero/abo_employment.asp

I am not the hiring manager and might not be able to answer many questions, but I will do what I can!

Primary Responsibilities:

* Provide phone and electronic support for a complex business software product.

Requirements:

* Previous customer support experience.
* Strong troubleshooting ability, excellent communication skills, understanding of standard business processes and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
* Basic understanding of relational databases, SQL query tools and general accounting principles a plus.

Sorry, I should have mentioned this in the first place... you will need to work out of our office in AUS for this position.

Too bad this couldn't be done remotely on a flex schedule. It would make a great second job for line pilot. I often have long sits and extensive hotel time...

Not to shamelessly top my own thread, but... this job is still available! If you have any questions or if you apply, please PM me so I can be sure your application is received.

And not to disregard your prior post about needing to be in Austin, but based on Mojo6911, Bandit_Driver and my posts in this thread, there would be more interest if the "on site" requirement was altered. Software support is done off-site on a regular basis. Ever called Microsoft, Dell, Toshiba for 3 examples? Just a suggestion if a larger pool of applicants is desired. I do appreciate the fact that you are making this offering to the JC community.
