Non Rev to Japan

Sidenote for anyone who doesn't have an international data plan normally, most plans have a temporary one you can add. I have AT&T and I think it was just $10 a day for each day you used it internationally, short trip so it was worth it for me. The GPS can be a little finicky with it though, spent a lot of time walking in circles the wrong way trying to get google maps to work in Tokyo. But you see cool crap along the way.

I have a "Bad Elf" that I pair to my iphone and it's amazing. A sick level of accuracy, but it still can get a little wonky when you're doing the airline pilot "crap, which way is west?"

Maps.me is offline maps that have saved me in many parts of the world where cell service wasn't an option. No help for public transit, but there's usually a city specific app for that.

But Japan...yea there's probably wifi 20 ft away from you.

I remember trying to track you guys down. I’d get close and then you’d magically teleport 3 blocks away.

Lonely planet guides app has pretty good offline apps too

I appreciate all of the replies, tips, and suggestions. We are hoping to go in the next couple of weeks and I'll be sure to share pictures if it all falls into place!

What's up with Spain and the maps? Last I went, let me think… Yeah, I just wandered around drinking establishments which I already knew.

Snowed yesterday! This is in Shibuya.
