Not to burst your bubble, but NJA is essentially the same as 121. You’ll fly two or three legs a day every day you’re on tour unless you’re broken. The only difference is the airports and airplanes will be smaller. You will fly a lot of cool places, but you will immediately repo back to TEB, OPF, or VNY.
I'm aware of the similarities, but you basically pointed out the appeal to me. A more interesting day to day mission but with the security of a 121 operation.
And believe me, I highly respect the folks cautioning against turning down the airlines, and y'all are certainly not the first to bring it to my attention. With everything going on right now it would be impossible to ignore the appeal. I'm not at 1500 regardless so whatever move I make now certainly doesn't slam any doors shut. I just have some motivations, some more tangible than others, to give this a shot. I've also spent my entire career up until this point with one of the big bad pilot mills, I'm sure you know the one, and while my student experience was pretty great, working with them is something I couldn't recommend to anyone. I feel like going from there straight to a regional/ULCC then to a major is just missing so much along the way that I've never gotten to experience. Call me naive or romantic but I really think that's worth something.
