Not really just don't be disappointed if "your" thread doesn't stay on topic. They rarely do. Not good or bad just the internet.
Why has your hope to be a pilot dissipated in such a short period of time? I've been at this career for the better part of 20 years and wanted to do this for the latter 33 of my 39 years. It's not all roses and it takes a passion. Maybe it's good you realized it after such a short period of time but also know it takes a lot of determination to make this work even in the dimmest of days.

Not at all. Just a PSA that JC is the mother, father, nephew, 3rd cousin twice removed and in-laws of all thread drift, which it does frequently and in weird, sometimes bizarre fashion.

You're right, it's technically a JC thread.

My hope about being a pilot was short lived because I'm so new to the aviation industry that it's still easy to entertain possibilities that aren't based on knowing what it takes. There was a regional that was offering to pay for a license. I thought, how simple!

Yet someone at work said his family owned an airline and at the time it would cost $50k for a pilot to get their license (I'm not sure for what, but maybe to get their rating to fly their planes). He said the fuel made it expensive too.

That, and just continuing to slowly learn more of what it takes to be a pilot....? I think I like the idea of flying a plane more than being a pilot. If it takes that dedication, then maybe I shouldn't trivialize it by vocalizing ideas i can't/won't pursue.

Well you do you bro but just know this place is a great resource and maybe some here could offer some useful perspectives if you stick around, deal with the nonsense, the thread drifts and the inside jokes. You may make some friends you may think the industry is • nuts. Either way the porn is terrible here but the perspectives as difficult as they may be to see on first glance are pretty damn valuable.

I know you're right. I still have much to learn and I see that. I look through older threads from time to time and get some knowledge from the past. I like JC, as forums go.
