My hope about being a pilot was short lived because I'm so new to the aviation industry that it's still easy to entertain possibilities that aren't based on knowing what it takes. There was a regional that was offering to pay for a license. I thought, how simple!
Yet someone at work said his family owned an airline and at the time it would cost $50k for a pilot to get their license (I'm not sure for what, but maybe to get their rating to fly their planes). He said the fuel made it expensive too.
That, and just continuing to slowly learn more of what it takes to be a pilot....? I think I like the idea of flying a plane more than being a pilot. If it takes that dedication, then maybe I shouldn't trivialize it by vocalizing ideas i can't/won't pursue.
