No Clearance Required to Cross a Closed Runway

If the ATIS says cleared to cross and the controller keeps it out of the clearance they issue, why not just add the "cleared to cross" in your read back? Shows you're actually listening to the ATIS, appeasing any upset controllers, and gives other controllers a chance to correct you if they can't otherwise.

I'd probably still query ground if the ATIS said that. Just me though

I'll take an annoyed controller any day over a violation or worse. I've heard too many farked up ATIS's to trust them. Controllers can be bad about clearing all the remarks out from the previous one and you get both.
