Nigerian man boards with expired boarding pass

The wife and I took a road trip a month or so ago. We bought a bottle of wine to have with dinner in the hotel and we didn't have a cork screw. Ran out to the store and bought one. Anyway, point of the story, I forgot it in my suitcase. So a few weeks later while going through security, my bag is the only one going through the x-ray machine. "Bag check!".

"Sir, do you have anything in this bag that might hurt me?"

"No, my laundry is clean."

At this point, I have absolutely zero idea what they might have found so I stand and watch, very much entertained. She takes lots of stuff out, keeps looking, finally gives it up and sends it through the x-ray again. It comes out, she looks again...can't find it. I ask "Am I allowed to ask what you're looking for so I can maybe point you in the right direction?"

She says its a cork screw, I remember it, pull it out of the side pocket. The best part is I pulled up my schedule and my bag had been screened by the TSA 10 times in various cities without anyone saying a thing.

All this was of course in uniform.

Well I doubt $1 would do it. If it does, it just goes to show you the airline you are on has done a horrible job of branding itself, or that its brand is inconsistent. An example of a brand that is consistent is jetBlue and Southwest. My Aunt used US Air exclusively for business until discovering jetBlue.

It absolutely would. Person sees Airways in the little "Lowest Price" box on one of the websites, and books it without even looking at anything else.
 
I paid more to fly the family this morning on jetblue, solely because of the leather seats and IFE. I usually fly delta when I can because it usually has decent service.

We can't have corkscrews? I think you're required to have one on an international trip! :)
