Nice line-up for Thunder Over Louisville

Probably one of the few years in recent memory I'm really bummed out I can't go for the actual show. Going down Friday before and watching the practice is usually a good way to skip the crowds.
 
I've heard different groups flying around the last couple days and leaving Atlantic last night was a bit of a mess with things everywhere. Wish I could see the show today

That's what I did, it was great. Parked in the garage for 4 bucks, walked a block to the Galt House, grabbed a couple beers and stood on their patio by centerpoint with about 10 other people. I could have died happy. I'm a total proponent of that from now on, going a day early. At least for an off-site or remote show like that. Granted you don't see everything but I didn't have a lot of time and really wanted to see the Blues. Something to be said about going to THE actual airshow onsite too, though. I just don't like wading through thousands of people and waiting in a ton of traffic, blah blah...

Ahhhh I so have the airshow bug right now lol!

Team Aerodynamix putting on a nice display with 11 Vans. I love twilight shows. It's 8:20 and I think Lima Lima is returning.

He did two performances, I missed the first but the twilight performance was beautiful.

The twilight and night performances of Team Dynamix (Vans RV-somethings) and Lima Lima (T-34's) were my favorites.

I especially enjoy the aircraft that require pilots to manage energy.

Biggest fireworks show in America has begun, over 50,000 shells!
 
Man, I am jealous!!!! Glad you are having such a terrific time there. I have to make some shows this year. AeroDynamix has some terrific old fart pilots and some wonderful birds. They really exciting to watch. Jerry Morris and Ron Schreck are incredible pilots with decades of experience on all sorts of airframes and are my faves to watch. Cool second career for these guys. Lima Lima does some just breathtaking/stunning formations. Again, so much talent there. And fireworks to boot, screw me. I worked all day and working tomorrow. Have a thrill for me. sigh If you get some pics, post em up.

The best part, this was my young girlfriend's first airshow and she wants to see more this summer. That's not a bad thing.

For the first time in a year, I feel like flying again....or maybe just drinking and watching more amazing pilots. I'm a very average pilot but I like to think I'm an elite drinker.
 
That is one hell of a line-up! I'm so excited that airshows are going on again! I've wanted to go see Thunder for years now, but I always end up working. Plus this year my lodging/loving out there is flying survey so it would get expensive for my broke ass(you can totally say ass on here) and I'd go to bed lonely.

Can't wait to see the Blues here in SF.:D
 
It was a heck of a show! I had to leave the riverfront around 8PM (stupid early Sunday work), but it was great to see the Blues over KY!
