Next Up in the RLA Conga Line

Lots of stuff beyond pay, but for now...

You joke like Endeavor joked about getting free ice cream in the crew rooms, then they got it.

Yeah, but do they get hot breakfasts in the morning like we do in LA? Oh man, the chief pilot cooks a mean omelette! But pancake day will leave you with the BEETUS.

This is really weird, but I am mostly a fan of the baby bok choy in the trays from the islands. I still haven't nailed why I like it, never have been a big fan before. The chicken thigh is decent, and (I say this as a savory over sweets guy) if you don't like grilled pineapple, I am sorry. But neither of those are the highlight for me.

I'm savory over sweet by far.

Ice cream bar... Meh.

Mashed potato and gravy bar with a yeast roll option? [Expletive deleted] YES!

The "secret ingredient" in the bok choy is going to be "chicken powder". It's like cooking fried rice, it's not going to ever be as good as the restaurant until you add a bit of "Dashida".

We're talking about MSG right now are we? Because I love that.
Duuuuuuude.

Seriously. Yes. It's an umami shortcut. Add a dash to any soup you're making and, in the words of Kenny Powers, it's some "next level sh--"

Lets go eat, man.

Yes please. I get the sense we would determine the same restaurant on our own before conversing. And isn't MSG just kelp or something? Never understood the aversion. As a side note, I remember my wife getting a bottle of MSG in the 90's as a gag gift. I really wish we had that. I'd sprinkle it on literally everything.

As for the sweets, today we were on the south end of the island going to the boys favorite doughnut shop (like their mom, they are full sweets guys). It was closed, and after promising them doughnuts for good car behavior, this risked disaster. Fortunately the staff was hanging out until dinner service in the back. Nice lady opened it up, and said pick whatever, its all free. Asked me if I wanted anything and I said no because I guess I am a sugar scrooge. But then I felt compelled to throw some cash down. And never, in the last few months, have I been less concerned with parting with a few 5's that could more easily be turned into van driver 1s, than I was then. She saved our night haha. Also, wtf is the deal with getting cash in 1s lately?
