Next PUBNAT

I just got my score for my AT-SAT today so I guess I'm just in waiting mode. 97.7 woot! I was wondering if, were I to see another PUBNAT announcement if it would do me any good to apply for it?

Also, how long have you all generally had to wait between getting your score and the Geo prefs email?
 
I would apply to every Pubnat until you get selected. I applied for Pubnats 3 through 7. I eventually got in on the PubAK listing, which closed around the same time as Pubnat 4.

For Pubnat 3, it was approximately 3 months from testing till geo prefs. When you get geo prefs depends on when the next hiring panel is.

Congrats on your WQ score! Check out signatures to get an idea of the timeline. I'd also recommend you read the Sticky's. They are extremely helpful!
 
Hello,

I see the previous person received a GeoPref in August and a Referral List in October. What is the difference? Is the GeoPref based on what you put on your application?

I'd second this. Apply for every PUBNAT until you get selected.

jcpilot, congrats on getting through OKC and making it to your facility! Not many on this forum can say they've made it all the way through. :beer::beer:

They will send you and email: "Where do you want to work?"

Then ASAP will announce that your name is on a list: This is the list that they look at when then decide who to hire
 
I've totally forgotten, but if a PUBNAT9 were to be posted, where do they post it again and, do you think any kind of announcement would be made in this forum?
 
Hambone don't worry about it, with your 1000% on the at-sat the FAA will come to you. Even if it means going to space.
 
I got an e-mail from the FAA this morning and they are estimating another PUBNAT in Feb., I am signing up at Mt.SAC in Walnut to go through the CTI program as I have to close out some expenses while I am still making good money to make me financially prepared for the first few years of pursuing my goal.

The FAA told you that there's going to be another PUBNAT in February? Is this just an email sent out to CTI students?
 
I emailed the person whos at the e mail us link in ASAP, and I got a response this morning. They are anticipating another PUBNAT then, but nothing confirmed. I am running out of time (just turned 27) so I am going to start school and apply to every PUBNAT until they stop reaching out to the general public so I can get in the door.
 
Do CTI graduates apply for PUBNAT positions? It would seem unnecessary since all of the other postings are for CTI graduates.

Also, what does "wash out" mean? Does it mean that the job is too difficult for a person, so he/she quits?

CTI grads can apply to pubnats. General consensus is to apply to every pubnat until you are picked up. For CTI grads, they would apply to all pubnats and CTI openings.
Washing out could mean it was too difficult and the person quit, or they couldn't hack it and got removed from duty.
