News Headline: 6 MTSU Flight Instructors Hired By ExpressJet

Well, it must be a slow news day in Nashville. I couldn't believe when I saw this as one of the top news stories on Channel 5 online :http://www.newschannel5.com/story/24562370/6-mtsu-flight-instructors-hired-by-expressjet

Since when is it news that pilots get hired?? o_O:bang:

Tennessee... Isn't this from whence @Boris Badenov sprang? Oh, wait, no, he's from Kentucky. Tennessee, Kentucky. Isn't that like Minnesota and Wisconsin? Norway and Sweden? Palestine and Israel? Iran and Iraq? etc, and etc.? All those places that contain exactly the same folks who believe in slightly different versions of the same magik who must therefore kill each other to prove how different they are?

Hope the flight instructors in the story can see the humor in this as well. I'm not sure id want to be in the headlines in my career until I made captain of the starship enterprise.

In the story (and their website) ExpressJet called themselves the largest regional airline. Being a doubtful sort of guy, I looked it up:

ExpressJet
Employees: 9,000
Aircraft over 400
Daily Flts 2,200

Skywest
Employees: 9,395 FTE
Aircraft 334
Daily Flts 1,721

Republic Airline Holdings
Employees 6,000 plus
Aircraft over 250
Daily Flts 1,300

(All data from each airline's web site on 1/29/14. No idea how they count or round off.)

All those places that contain exactly the same folks who believe in slightly different versions of the same magik who must therefore kill each other to prove how different they are?

Well, each other and apostates from outside the region who try to tell us that we're all the same, deep down. Generally we turn on them first, then deal with each other.

The guy from Idaho was my student about 6 years ago. After getting his private with me he went to MTSU for the rest of his certs. He was one of the sharpest and self motivated students I had. Great guy.
