Newest Delta Captain

Why not bid ATL CA? That also went pretty junior? Octoberish?

I've done my tour of duty of the 88 and I'm not going back. :)

I came close to holding ATL 717 on this bid. Couple early 2014 guys got it. Probably can hold it next bid but I'll solidly be a lineholder on the 717 in NYC with the additional folks that came in below me so I'll probably stay put for a while. I love the NYC base.

1 year or 400 block hours

Ours is similar. 12 months or 400 credit hours (sequences flown) and a Continuing Qualification/ event. However, a probationary pilot can not bid for a Captain vacancy. Because of that, we'll never see upgrades lower than 9 months.

I am curious though how 2 NYC 88b with less than 3 months on property were able to switch to nyc7er and lax7er. Both with lots of seat lock left. Guy in my class bid sea 73nb and can't get it because of his seat lock when junior people did yet these two guys switched with a much longer seat lock than he has

Yeah T3 is not impressive whatsoever. They did open a couple new dining options in the long hallway to the left side before the gates. I think there is a coffee shop and a sandwich place. Didn't look too impressive.

Anyway, it shouldn't last too long. Delta is going to come to T3 eventually and with the merger, we're probably moving down to where Delta/Alaska is at LAX @ T6. I don't know how the food options are in T6. But they better friggin be good!
HABIT BURGER. That is all.

If I have to get food, I get food. I'm neither going to sit down and be a butthole, nor am I just going to go for crap to save time. Common sense, people!

One of my favorite examples was at my regional... some gate supervisor met me at the gate to escort me to my next flight which I was rerouted into and was past departure. "Okay so we're going straight to gate xx" said the eager beaver.

"It's been 6 hours since I've had food, I'm getting something"

"No, there is no time!"

"I'm getting food, want something? This is not a negotiation."

He stood there literally dancing watching me wait in the line. Maybe if he really wanted the plane to go immediately he should have gotten me something beforehand?

My OE captain said there is always time to go to the bathroom and get food. He was a great guy to fly with.
