This is my first post here, but I've read so much. A lot of great information here. My grand father who I am really close to is a retired FAA controller and encourages me to meet my pilot goals, which does not necessarily mean Airline captain, but rather professional and experiences pilot.
I am a pilot enthusiast, I have never flown before other than as a passenger on several airlines and I have a deep passion for it. I look at Airline pilots like little kids look at movie stars.
I am going to begin working on my Private PL this summer hopefully and get a few hours under my belt. I am a sophmore at a University right now and have major goals I would like to meet.
I plan to earn a Bachelor's and then a Master's degree in Business (mainly because I can do almost anything with it). Once I obtain that I plan on entering the DEA as an agent and save up for this ATP Airline Career Program. Yes this is probably like 7-9 years away but I know I can get there.
Just having all the ratings under my belt and to my name such as 200 hours multi engine time is an achievement.
I do have a few questions. Cross country time. I'm assuming that means flying to different places correct? What kind of places and how far? How does this work?
Is ATP is rip off or is their program for real?
Sorry for the long post.
