New York Airports

Which is the best airport to commute to (Newark, JFK or La Guardia)? Praise the Lord I haven't actually had to fly into any of them in about 6 months, but when I did I'd have picked JFK (at least in, maybe in the evening out rush I might have chosen otherwise). On the other hand recent press about JFK makes me think thats a crapshoot.

OK - they're all a crapshoot - but any advice from anyone who does it regularly? I'm going to Manhattan, so I don't suppose it matters much from a transportation point of view.

Thanks

living in manhattan, JFK and EWR are easy (trains to both, $2+$5 to JFK, $2+$14 to EWR). For LGA you need to take an uptown train to the M60 bus (i think thats the one) to the airport.

For flying i think that would entirely depend on which carriers you can see the loads for and jumpseat priority on. What cities would you be trying to get to nyc from?

Yep, the good old M60 will get you there from uptown... or you can take the Q33 from Jackson Heights. That makes LGA the cheapest option.

LGA is the easiest airport to get to/from if you live in manhattan. i've been doing it for 27 years.

It's easy any way you slice it with http://www.flyush.com/

JFK or EWR direct to the Manhattan Heliport... Just grab the jumpseat and go! ;)

I wish! We don't actually get to jumpseat... but at least we do get a deep discount non-rev fare with them. Cheaper than a cab and only 8 minutes.
