I've seen various websites that say as soon as the G650 get's a maximum speed set/demonstrated, Cessna is going to go out and do the testing to get the Citation X over whatever speed was set by the G650. I'd bet the winglet's might help that, but with those engines, you can always just bump the thrust level up slightly. Looks amazing, and as a part time line guy, I can say the Citation X is one of, if not, the quietest jets on the ramp (in my experience).

Beats a hawker, thats for sure, haha. God I hate that APU.
 
:drool: That's awesome. Speaking on Citation X's... I believe I'll be getting a test drive in the sim at TOL tomorrow. :D

Well Cessna doesn't exactly have the money to do that right now. Yes the engines are de-rated and can be pushed up higher.
 
I was talking to a Cessna engineer who had actually been working on the winglets program. He said that the performance improvement was really minor. Mostly they looked cool.

I was wondering how many people actually fly their CX ~3000nm. I'm sure there are a few but the majority are probably shorter flights so winglets wouldn't improve that much.

Also, the wing is super clean and very efficient.

In the grand scheme of things, it'll be 3 or 4 years before they have to make a move, to keep the "fastest non-military jet" title. Until they deliver a G650, they are golden. I'd bet it'll happen.

Well, right up until the plane falls apart as it approaches Mach 1... Really though, a pilot could have worse problems...
