New Private Pilot

Good plan. My fondest memories from my GA days were loading up a plane of homies and going someplace for lunch. The hamburger costs $100. The value added is priceless.
(Speaking of hamburgers, check out the Tiki and KFPR. Worth the trip!)
I've done that quite a bit during my training too. The day before my checkride my instructor and I flew to Spruce Creek for lunch before we started working on the other stuff.

First things first congratulations! Those 50 hours don't have to be pesky either. Take some friends up, split the cost, and fly to dinner somewhere. Don't make the mistake I did when I built mine of flying over farm land for 50 hours scratching myself looking out the window.

Around the midwest that's about the only thing to do, especially when the FBO's refuse you a crew car because you're too young. Good fun.

Congrats, enjoy it.

'gratz, have fun, and try not to scare yourself to much :)

Oh trust me.. that time will come. Nothing like a wet tempo. Private Certificate to have a few Oscar Sierra moments with. Been there, done that. To the OP: Congrats and have fun with it.

Is that a guarantee? ;)
Thanks guys. Instrument is next, but probably not for awhile. I have to work on those pesky 50 hours of cross country. Guess what I'll be doing next year?

Congrats! Those 50 were some of the most fun hours I've flown. And some of the scariest, which included some dumb stuff, too.

Congrats!
I'm currently i'm a similar situation as you, working on those darn 50 hours! Hasn't been so bad though, have around 18 done, only 32 to go!

Have the most fun you can with those 50 hours. I knocked them out this past summer/fall and it was not only fune, but also a great learning experience. Scared myself a few times? You bet. Learned from my mistakes? Yep.

Congrats!! You have been at this for a long time now, I am glad to see that you finished it up.

Please be careful! You have entered a bit of a "Danger Zone" of aviation training progression. I had me share of OS moments right after getting my PPL. Swelled head and a belief that O knew more then I really did. Don't fall into the trap, or be able to realize when you do. Stay safe, and have fun!

Thanks! It has been awhile. ;) I still know I am very capable of making mistakes and don't know much. I prove it to myself too often to not. ;)
