I haven't stayed up on this stuff like I should have...

Do I have this right?

1st class - 12 calendar months (under 40).

2nd class - 60 calendar months (under 40).

3rd class - 60 calendar months (under 40).

When 1st class privileges lapse, 3rd class privileges now prevail? If a 2nd class is good for 60 calendar months, not sure why anyone would get a 3rd class anymore.

i believe that a 2nd is still only good for 12 months

Third class medical certificates might be the only thing a pilot is eligible for based on medical standards.
