Ryno,
I didnt read everysingle line in this post but what FMS's did you have in the CJ1?

Universal UNS 1K. It's been a great unit, but I hear great things about the Collins 1000, 3000, or whatever it is. I haven't seen it for myself yet. I guess the Collins does much more than the 1K.

I agree that the X is not as great as advertised. I've never flown one, but I hear hot and high performance is a real drag. 2 or 3 years ago they increased the thrust of the engines (I believe 400 lbs) to improve hot and high performance. Still, I'll take most of the other Citations over the X.

Take the monoey and run, yes sir. And the CJ3 has a collans 3000. I know because i just read the AOPA featuring the CJ3. like your avatar RynoB!
The X is a complex aircraft, more so than the B737, I have heard (wouldnt stake me life on it) Have fun up at FLight Safety, Ive been to one in New castle ILG and flew a G5 sim (a whole nother story!, but it was fun as anything) Keep cool and tell use when the sleek bird taxis on in to the hanger. Actually will you be picking it up?

The chief pilot is at flight safety in wichita now and will bring the plane back. Meanwhile, I'm holding down the fort with the CJ1.

I'm skiing in Aspen for a few days while waiting for CJ3 to get some paint chips repaired. It's a rough life!

class date set

My CJ3 recurrent is set for Feb 6th through the 10th at Flight Safety, Wichita. I guess they combine the ground on the CJ1+, CJ2+, and the CJ3. Unfortunately, they don't have sim slots available on the 3 until May, so I will be in a CJ1+ sim. The cockpits are identical, it's just that there is a huge performance difference.

I got to see our CJ3 for the first time today. Tricked out nice. I'll be annoying the passengers with the prerecorded passenger breifings. I'll play them for the pax whether they need it or not, just because I can :bandit:

I can't wait until I'm punching holes in the sky with this new hot rod :nana2:

Not cool man, not cool:( you X jockeys think yer soooo much better than the rest of us.

:D

Actually, I don't fly a Citation X. It just sounded funny to hear the other guy mention the X's poor hot and high perf. when he's flying a CJ. No comparison.:)

blah..we are all the same. For pilots to get fat heads cause they fly some airfame is rediculous to me.

I see it alot in the heavy metal stuff..as im sure you guys do.

For some reason I seem to see it in many (not all!) Diamond Jet/Beechjet/Hawker 400XP pilots...go figure...the ugliest plane on the ramp and they show up with a cocky attitude.

Nothin worse than a pilot with a big head...(or really anyone for that matter).

Now a Westwind..thats ugly!

I'll second that; although I know some pilots that fly them, and they seem to like them. They say they are fairly comfortable up front. I've never personally been in one.

I've always kind of liked the 400.
