New Jeppesen VFR+GPS charts...

Still here.
What do you guys think?

They sent me a sample one in the mail (must think I'm special or something ;)) and after a quick glance, I think it's great! Everything on one side, really clear layout, and airport info on the back side.

There may be some quirks as I investigate further, but so far, I like it. Can't wait till the Vegas one is released.

I got a sample a few days ago as well. I'm a big fan, except they have terrible coverage of the upper Midwest right now, where I do most of my flying. Also, I'm not sure what the final pricing will be set like. If it's close to the government chart pricing, say, $12 or less, I'd go for it, but if it's double the price, like a lot of their IFR products, I'm not so sure.

And I think the justification is the airport data on the back replaces an afd.
 
And there is a a disclaimer that says they may not chart all obstructions for the sake of chart congestion...
 
A big plus is that they are situated around common flight routes.
So you shouldn't have to use two charts to go between two neighboring major cities
 
The sample I saw looked awful for actual VFR pilotage. Maybe I didn't get a good look at it, though.

I won't say too much because I used to work there and even got to work on the European VFR/GPS charts. Most pilots looked at the charts and initially perceived them to be a bit "overloaded" which is the biggest problem for anyone who has ever edited or compiled charts. However, most people changed their view/mind once they considered the benefits of the product and had used it for a while. The increased pricetag is only a initial concern, as many IFR jockeys can attest to.
