New Instructor

Glad to hear things are going much better Pam. Enjoy it! Before you know it, you wont realize what you're doing until you're back on the ground.

Boy it is funny what people will tolerate when they are paying from their own pockets!

What's that mean? In relation to this thread? I don't think Pam's parents, or a Rich Uncle are paying for her flight training.

Thank you! The weather has been horrible for the past few days and I'm really hoping it's clear by Thursday. I have a lesson scheduled!

Hmmm... I don't think I 'tolerated' it. That's why I have a new instructor. However, I did want to give her an adequate chance. Also, it's hard to know whether or not you have a good instructor when you don't really have anything to compare it to. I work very hard for that money that I dish out every couple of days and I do want quality training which is why I didn't tolerate it and chose to switch instructors. However, on a personal level, I don't have any issues with Kayla, actually I like her quite well and I don't want there to be hard feelings so I did want to be careful about the way I went about it.

I think my comment is a little misunderstood.

My comment was in no way intended to imply anything negative...AT ALL.
I applaud your call on making the change to get a different instructor. My original point was that....I think it is funny what some people will just let slide when they are not paying the bill. AND, I 100% respect when someone that IS paying penny for penny pulls the trigger on making that call. Outstanding job to you. I sometimes wish that I had the (refer to avator) to make that call at the outstanding timing that you made it. I am not inferring to my flight training, but I can tell you that I have been suckered a few times into a service contract, or a "warranty" from best buy, when I should have known better.

I know that you are on the pay as you go method...and you feel every shift and slide that comes and goes. I can and have learned from people like you.

So, here's lookin at ya!

Hope that clears the air a bit. And, by the way, I am a huge fan.

Yeah, I think I must have misunderstood. I didn't think that comment (the way I mistakenly took it) seemed like something you would say. And thank you for the kind words. This site and the cool people that I've met on here, such as yourself, have been a huge encouragement to me. :)

Don't make me break out the Jeremy Pivin video out on you....:)

So did you tell her about these issues before you moved on? The reason I ask this is because if you don't tell someone you're having issues with them, they'll never know.

And someone else may suffer as a result.

Well, I had been telling her all along. I was always asking her for more information, more ground instruction, more teaching instead of just telling.

Ryan told me at yesterday's lesson that Harry had a talk with her to let her and she was okay and that she hoped I got more from working with Ryan. Another of her students asked if Ryan could take him on too.

Anyways, I'm very happy with my decision. Ryan has pretty much got me ready to start preparing to solo in about 4hrs. I've learned all the things I hadn't yet gone over with Kayla and now he's going to go back over the things I did learn with her to make sure I have them down and then I'll take my presolo written, which he's getting me ready for now. :D
