New Gal

Wiiiiiilsoooooon!!!!!

I loved you in Castaway -- you really stole the show! Glad to see you've recovered from that traumatic event and have gotten on with your life!

I really liked you with Tom Hanks too. But I would have been nervous for your career that you might have been type casted in that role.

Ha, welcome aboard. Your name conjured up the same image at first, Wilson from Castaway.

I am a flight attendant and I am new (I am bracing myself for the backlash lol). Anyway, not to set myself for a massive attack but I kind of want to see the movie "The Aviary" discussed here.

I saw this review and it looks interesting.http://www.anvilandsprocket.com/review.php?rec=177
So where is the "Aviary" thread you keep talking about here? And where is this "Wilson"? Am I going to be ambushed too?

Anyway, glad to be here.

New people are always welcome.

I think the main problem with the couple other new flight attendant members mentioned here is that they showed up, made one or two posts, put in a 'plug' for Aviary, then never posted again. Smelled like someone fishing for free advertising, which is NOT welcome here.

So, welcome, and please stick around! We'd like the opportunity to get to know you better.

Hi everyone! I am very excited to have found this forum. I am a flight attendant and am always looking for new, fun aviation and forums to participate in.

I hope I will add something to this site and suspect I will get a lot from all of you too. Thanks for letting me be here!

New gal on the website? How many PMs have you gotten asking you for your phone number so far!

Actually, there are quite a few flight attendants on the website.

But I think they're scared to death to post occasionally because sometimes people go a little goofy when a lady shows up on the forum.

Doug, are you saying we are a bunch of male shamanist pigs?

I know a wiccan that lurks the forums, but I haven't seen any actual shamen that have introduced themselves!

The people with industry experience that saw it didn't like it all that much.

I'm not sure what else is to be said?

Oh, it's sooooo funny!!!

[un-named JC Member]: Lloyd, Such-and-such said he'll be driving from Seattle to Wichita, and he'd love to stop in Nashville and have drinks!! Will you be there?

[Me]: Ummmm, He never told me he's be here.

[un-named JC Member]: Well, Whose-his-face will be in Raleigh, but said he's more than will to come to Nashville to share some industry advice. Wanna come?

[Me]: Ummm, you realize that these people don't really want me there??

Ahh yes.

"I wouldn't want to be the third wheel ya know!"

Now you are all relly going to hate me. I bought the movie and despite all the negative feedback I heard hear, I really liked it. Don't get me wrong not a perfect movie or perfect picture of the aviation industry. However, I did feel that it touched on some themes that I haven't seen in other aviation movies (mainly the feeling of lonlines and anonymity that are really not shown in the lives of cabin crew on screen).

Anyway, that's that. My two cents are spent.

Here is another review from just the other day about the movie. You all can check it out and decide for yourselves:

3 posts in 3 months and their all about The Aviary...I'm afraid your looking like your trying to get some free advertising GeorgeMeyers.. is that what your purpose is here?

We don't take too kindly to that and I haven't had a good day today so I'm a but easier to ruffle than normal. If your not looking for free advertising, it might behoove you to contribute more to the site vs trying to get some free advertising...We do have rates if you'd like a quote?

One more free advertising hit and we will have to put you on the watchlist, I'm not feeling so generous today as to let it continue.

What's the point of writing a fictional soap and trying to play it off as "reality" when when you can make a soap, unapologetically admit that it's played up and have fun with the concept like BBC's "Mile High". It's so cheesy and cliche that it's hilarious!
