Every company has its YMMV but if that talk is happening with the main cabin door open, you may have a ground security coordinator or someone land-based that's responsible for that kinda stuff. Perhaps utilizing them would be prudent.

I dunno. If it seems you might have a group of people who may be a problem on the flight it might not hurt to set some ground rules before you leave. Really depends on the situation, if this is announcement is made every flight, it’s a bit much. But if it’s in response to something that happened, I think it’s handled well. Sets expectations, lets them know that rules will be enforced, and throws in some humor to put people at ease.

One Capt on a flight I was riding on read the METAR for the destination when describing what the rather was going to be when 30 minutes out. I’m sure he had the complete attention of the pax.

the Capt on my flight was announcing the whole “and the current RVR is being shown as 2400 right now there….”. It was eye rolling to be hearing all of that.

Had a copilot on a certain airline with a flag on the tail explain RCAM values going into MSP during a winter storm…”it’s snowing and a little slippery” might have been sufficient.

When asked what altitude I fly at, I always respond with 60 degrees.

(CNN)Australian Olympians returning from the Tokyo 2020 games have been criticized over "excessive alcohol consumption" and "loud and disruptive" behavior on their flight home.
Ian Chesterman, Australia's chef de mission, told reporters Wednesday that he had received a report from Japan Airlines about the "unacceptable" behavior of team members.
Athletes "failed to respond to requests for them do do whatever they needed to do on the flight," Chesterman said.
"And then there was also the issue of at least one person being sick in the toilet and leaving that inoperable for the remainder of the fight," he added.

Seriously, not joking here. But with the Japanese COVID rules in place. The Olympians weren't able to have their normal post Olympics orgies in the athletes village before returning home. They train for four years and they weren't able to blow their tops like a geyser and release all that energy. So they're still holding on tight, which is probably the reason for this type of behavior.

I heard on NBC last week that Japan only allowed the athletes to sleep on cardboard beds for the duration to deter more than one person being able to be on a bed. To minimize the chances of athletes hooking up and spreading COVID.

Just use the old

04 C = 40 F
16 C = 61 F
28C = 82 F
30 C = 86F

Every plus or mins 1 degree of C is 2 degrees of F. So using those numbers as a baseline...from 04 C, 6 C is 44F... ( just add 2 x 2) 10 C is 52 F.... (6 x 2..).= +12 for the F... 18 C is 65F etc... so many ways..

iPad hack, search, even offline. Type in temp and C or F and it’ll convert it. But who cares, you should be able to get close enough in your head that it won’t matter.
