New Feature: The "Map"

Well, remember those are just the nearest cities. So there might be a gajillion in Juno, but it'll just show one dot.

Whereas if you look in AZ, you might see five dots, representing Mesa, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and Gilbert.

What might be cool is to, one day, integrate it with Google Earth, but that's pretty far down the priority list.

I wonder what our friend in Sweden is looking at... :)

Whoa, that is way cool! Wow, there is even a registered user from Taiwan! Who'd have thunk it?

You'd think with people claiming that Heresshof is communist, I'd be getting mad love from the folks in the former Soviet Union. But the only commies I'm getting any play from are the Chinese! :sarcasm:

Perhaps I should write a diatribe about Tianiman (sp?) Square and see how fast our Chinese lurkers disappear thanks to censorship.

I'm guessing that's the PWMurphy dude from Pan Am China or whatever it is.

Just a guess :)

Indiana. It's a bit of a void.

That was a good laugh :)

When we first moved here last summer, my SILs husband (who was born & raised here) was all like "oh, and Indy is such a great city, there's so much to do, it's such a great big city to be near". After having spent 10 years in Chicago, I'm sorry but the city of Indianpolis really holds no comparison.

If I wanted the country, I'd go back to Wisconsin (cheaper living, but a horrible commute to CVG). If I wanted the city, I'd go back to Chicago (but can't afford it anymore). Sadly, we need to be close enough to CVG to drive to work, so here we are in Indy.

I gotta complaint about the map.

When I log in, I usually click on New Posts before the first page even loads. I've just about got it down to where I can click before anything loads, because my mouse hand has the location of the hyperlink in muscle memory. Since Map was added to the "Blue Bar", New Posts has moved to the right. Now, if I'm not paying attention (as is often the case when I'm waking up and logging on at the same time) I'm more likely to click on Calendar.

OK, so it's not really a complaint. :)

Cute feature.

Now, can you change it so that threads to which I've posted are tagged with a different icon in the left column? Most forums have that feature, and it makes it much easier to find those conversations in which I've recently participated and want to check back in on. :)

Or you could have your Favorites shortcut (or whatever link you use to access JC) point directly to the New Threads link. One stop shopping. :)

Well, it's made me rethink what I thought I knew about geography!

Whoops, I'm sorry, I'm in L'anna for recurrent training. The proper vernacular is "I done had to re thank what I thought I done thunk bout G AAH-griffy"

Looks like someone's on in Dresden, DE. A little "early" out there!

Dear Dough,
Is there a possibility for a mouseover feature to see who is where? There was someone in EBF, China (like Tibet area, wtf?) who I was curious about earlier.
