I'm new enough to this website where I've never had the honor of posting my accomplishments on here... until today! I took my CFI initial today (single engine), and passed! It was by far the hardest checkride I've ever taken-- yet, one of the most rewarding

Congrats! Do you have job lined up anywhere or are you going to continue training? Whats next?

I remember my CFI ride (s). The FAA guy told me when we sat down to start the oral ... " let's get one thing straight ... this aint your CFI ride ... its your first attempt at your CFI"
That set the mood right. Although it took three vistis with the FAA to get my CFI they considered it a first time pass. Day 1 we did the oral and cancelled the flight due to WX, Day 2 the examiner didn't show ( car troubles ) Day 3 did the flight and got the ticket.

I'm going right on to the CFII! Then I need to get the Commercial Multi add-on (I've got my Multi private, so it shouldn't be too hard), then the MEI. I figure, may as well! I do have a job that I can take if I want to... but, I'm going to keep looking a little bit before I take it. The place I can go doesn't have a multi-trainer... so I'm going to keep looking a little while (not too long... I'm not that picky!).
 
congrats - please do post your checkride details in the checkride section when you get the chance, for those of us currently working on our CFIs!

Good luck on your continued training - you're taking the exact same path that I am (CFI and II first followed by CMEL and MEI)

OUTSTANDING!! I'm working on my CFI as well. Just took the FOI and working on the FIA... then the flying.

Enjoy the rest of your training! I'm lucky and glad in the respect that I've already earned the CMEL/IA, so the MEI shouldn't be too hard (seeing how I've taken TWO Multi-engine checkrides = PPMEL and CMEL)... I hope anyway.

Like you, once I finish my initial CFI, I'm going to move forthwith into my CFII.. then the MEI.

That's sooo weird!! I did my CFII as my initial, and it was far harder than the CFI!!! I hate that VFR stuff, though....
