Oh, come one! You know we're overstaffed. Those reserves flying every day, JA calls and 7 canceled flights in MEM due to no FOs were just figments of the pilot group's collective imagination.

I'm playing the same game. There is a chance I can hold the 765 in NYC. Several FOs I spoke with on it, said that if they had to follow the plane to NYC, they may as well bid NB captain there. I can definitely hold a line on the ER there. Question is, do I want to commute to NYC?

I really can't imagine commuting to NYC. Is your seniority above 10000?

I'm 11100 plus a couple.... this is gonna be interesting.

And yes, DTW is def on the option list. In-laws make a good crashpad. :)
 
Keep in mind that you can bid for positions that aren't even listed because of 'backfill'. Throw in 747 captain... You never know, man!
 
RJ's between DFW and PHX is what made me pull the trigger to ATL back in the day.

Weight restrictions when there's a cloud over the metroplex didn't make for a reliable ride to work! ;)
 
I refuse to commute on anything that requires an RJ. The irony would be I would be commuting out of ATL.

At least thing will finally sort themselves out with ATL over the next yearish...
 
I commuted to NYC for 8 years out of ORD, never had a problem. NYC is very commuter friendly as JFK & LGA are only a 30-40 minute cab ride apart.

I flew into JFK on the day of the big JetBlue meltdown, took a cab to LGA and walked onto a UAL jumpseat and got right home!

Delta pilots are afraid of New York - go there, your seniority will thank you!

I commuted IND-LGA for 6 months in the summer of 2002 and was ready to shoot myself... Either 3 unreliable RJs on ACA non-stop, or go through ORD on Eagle's oversold 145s and double-leg it.

Bill is still thinking about what he wants to do... when does the bid close?
