Hey all, figured I'll introduce myself here as I will probably be around alot to talk with and get information from the dispatchers out there. a little about myself, Im 25 now currently in the Army (non-aviation job) getting out in 18 months. My father is a pilot and I pretty much grew up around anything that goes up. always had a fascination with them but never persued as i should have. My dad works in FlightOps at delta and after moving back to GA with the military I would hang out with him and completely fell in love with aviation again as I checked out the OCC and fly the sims whenever I visit ("flown" 88s, 777s, 320s, you name it). He was the one who actually told me about the Dispatch job and I've been looking into it since. Im currently a student pilot my goal is to have my PPL by the time i get out the army and go straight to sheffield. I sidelined working to become a proffesional pilot as I am married with a son (named Jett!) and talking to guys already in the door I realize that's a financially burden I can't risk. Getting out of the Army as a Sergeant to pursue a whole new career is a high enough risk already but I feel in the long run it will pay off as i will be involved with what i truly love. well, looking forward to talking with you dispatchers out there! hope to see some of you one day on the job.
