So was this just someone who was bored and wanted a lively discussion. I'd believe it but still in my paranoia of way-too-much government intervention still wanted to make sure (a.k.a. I'd be writing my Congressman..)
I didn't want a "lively discussion".
I wrote the [obviously] fake news release to mock the electronic gadgets bill. I even got called early on, yet angry responses poured in. And, I didn't even do all that good of a job of writing a fake press release.
To be honest, I was frankly disappointed in the bend this thread took.
The "Airline Pilots" forum needs some levity, and that's the idea behind the [obviously] fake press release to get some joking and laughing in you guys.
Everyone who flies for a living understands how much stuff sucks. At the end of the day, all we have is each other for support. That's what makes this forum different, or did until recently. We all worked together.
Now it seems like the discussions center around walling your "territory" and wishing bad things on other guys just trying to make a living.
No one wants to be the lowest paid guy at the worst place. However, if you apply to the "best" places and that's the only offer you get, what do you want them to do? Retrain and go into another industry?
Anyway, we all need to relax. Alot of the contributors here have been in your shoes, and seen tough times.
Times like these are when it's up to US to keep any sanity and positivity in the workplace. It's just too easy to burn out on the negative because it's in such obvious sight.
