New aeroplane

I'm telling you guys, forget the airlines...some of the better jobs in aviation can still be found in corporate aviation...if you can find them...

Beautiful bird!!! :D
that has been my plan all along, but man it is hard to find anything with low time (1700TT)

Given the current economic situation, yes...but you'd be surprised what comes your way.

In this biz, it's not what you know, it's who you know. I bet you can ask any corporate pilot how they got to their current employer and I bet 90% of them will say some form of networking.

For me, all it took was sitting at the front counter of the FBO at which I was working and directing a corporate pilot to the office of the GM. I didn't realize it then, but two years later, it paid off.

which would be great if i worked at an FBO.....

I got hired into the right seat of a Citation with 360 hours, thanks to my line service job. I took a big leap of faith, and packed up and moved to FXE after getting all my ratings in NH. I worked line there for a year, then got my flying job. Did that for two years, then moved back to NH, and now I'm working for a fractional. It doesn't always work out, and I will say that working 10 years in line service literally took blood, sweat and tears, but in the end it was all worth it.

Sure you are! Just because you don't think you have the time, doesn't mean you can't start "stopping to smell the roses". Sometimes it's just taking a second to exchange a few kind words with someone. You just never know. Besides, I know at least one chief pilot of a fortune 500 company that has the authority and will hire someone with 250 TT and a fresh multi under the right circumstances. Who would you rather fly with? Someone with 15,000 hours who's a jerk or someone right out of flight school who's really great to be around, both being able to make it through flight safety? This kind of thing is on the mind of flight departments looking for someone.

it isn't the time, it is the fact that KGFK isn't the busiest bizjet airport in the world. and for some reason i can never convince my students to actually stop and enjoy aviation, have a burger when on a XC, etc. when i was instructing part 61 it was easy, in the 141 environment the students are just in a hurry to get to that airline :(

I wish I had an instructor more like you... I just did my first xc for my private two days ago. We made a full stop at the first airport to use the restrooms. While inside I was looking at all the different airplanes on the wall and checking the place out when my instructor was in such a hurry to get back in the air. I would of liked to stay a few mins and check the place out.

A buddy and me use to go get a "Runway Burger" one or two times a week back home at KBJC. They have a great resturant that overlooks the runway. I wouldn't mind doing a xc and stopping there for lunch along the way :nana2:
