That nubbly furniture will never be the same! But s/he's cute!

Ogden Nash said it best:
The only trouble with a kitten is that
It eventually becomes a cat.

Sayeth a cat owner.

Ha, that chair has already survived at least 15 years of cats. You can't see the shredded part in that picture. Yeah she's a little cutie, full of energy. In a few months here we'll have a little daughter and a little cat...life will be exciting, haha.

She's cuter than snot and I really like her name. I love how cats when they're babies, have that fuzzy/sticks out/short fur. She's already claimed the blankie too. lol I am really glad you and your wife got a new baby. Now with your little girl on the way..........it's going to be a much better year for both of you. Plenty of love going to fill your home up now.

Oh also, if you are at all an animal person I challenge you to go to an animal shelter and NOT want to give every one of them a loving home. You won't be able to do it.

We volunteer at ours. It's damn hard. Especially as you work with a dog and get to know them over a few weeks.

It's apparently a very common concern as the humane society here even mentions it on the volunteer section of their website:

Another way to help homeless animals is to volunteer your time and skills. If you think you can't volunteer at the shelter because you'd want to take all the animals home, keep in mind that it's people who care deeply about animals that have the most to offer them. As a CDHS volunteer you are vitally important and each task you perform is a significant contribution! We do not ask for any formal time commitments from our volunteers - we are happy with whatever time you can give. If you have the time and inclination to become physically involved, we welcome you with open arms!
