Stand by for news.
12/1, Yuma, Chico, and the ACV-SMF shuttle stops. "What's next?"Stand down for what?
I sort of doubt it. To me, there's a critical mass below which having the program at all doesn't make sense, and the rumors that are flying thick around LAX all seem to say it'll be gone sooner than "a couple of years."Ameriflight, Africa and I think a few even went to Russia a few years back. It sure looks like the mighty Bro is slowly flying West into the sunset. I would guess they will be around for a couple of years still, but on a ever shrinking basis.
Yep. The number I heard is 25, is that truly it?I sort of doubt it. To me, there's a critical mass below which having the program at all doesn't make sense, and the rumors that are flying thick around LAX all seem to say it'll be gone sooner than "a couple of years."

There's not a hard number (that I know of) batted around, but the fact that they were big on moving up everyone's recurrent this year should raise eyebrows.
LAX is down to 15 (!) crews, and that includes most all the simulator workforce on the Captain side.

We've got at least two FOs departing the airplane in November in LAX for the BroBus. At least one or two Captains are leaving the Brasilia workforce too. I think it's taking care of itself. I just wonder if I'll get called in training to do repos to the boneyard/Amflight.Damn. Were down to about 26 in Fresno after we just lost 4 FOs to the 175 on Oct 6th
I do hope they find a new life, and not to the desert. Of course, even better would have been to fly the be-18 at AMF...We've got at least two FOs departing the airplane in November in LAX for the BroBus. Everts flies the -120. So does Siver and a whole slew of freight outfits. We've got at least two FOs departing the airplane in November in LAX for the BroBus. We could use two maybe three as cargo ops in SLC now. I doubt AMF will buy another one again.Ameriflight, Africa and I think a few even went to Russia a few years back. It is the airplane that has been two years from going away since we got it, but this time I think it's for real.Yeah the whole economies of scale thing. I may not fly her, but I don't want her to go away yet.
I might be experiencing a bit of denial. For all of the years I was on it there were always rumors about it dying and going away yet somehow they never really happened. That being said I've been away from her for 3 years now, so I'm not as in tune to the rumors and pulse of the Bro community. I've been talking to a couple of buddies that are still on it in SLC and they reflect what you are feeling too. I sure hate to see it go.
I heard acv isn't going away (from SFO). What's going away is the Smf-acv-cec triangle. It is the airplane that has been two years from going away since we got it, but this time I think it's for real.
I mean, how are people going to get to ACV, RDD and the like? Once a day on the jet to a farther-away place?
