I have to speak up for my department. We have a lot of airplane knowledge in the department. Our whole job
is to know airplanes. [One of] our tasks(s) is to try to inform the sales guys
before they oversell performance. But we can only answer what we are asked - we don't know all that goes on in the sales field.

I didn't mean to belittle the department (which one is it by the way?). I didn't know there was an analysis department already. Nice to know it's already there. Now.....get those guys in shape, will ya!
All I can speak from is the many sales demos I have done over the years. The accuracy of the aircraft perf data that the salesmen use is
grossly exaggerated. Most demo flights I have done, do not even have a salesperson present.
No....the Citation X will NOT fly mach .92, coast to coast westbound, in the winter, off a contaminated runway. HPN-ASE ain't gonna happen ('til Spring).

I didn't take what you said in a bad way - sorry if I sounded short. Yeah, our department is there just to provide accurate information to sales and marketing so we are in touch with people in every part of the business at one point or another.
The X won't do M0.92 all the time no matter what? I've been telling people M1.92 - guess I misunderstood something. I'll have to break out the manual and see where I went wrong. I had also heard that you can take off straight up and climb direct to FL600. Don't tell me that's not true, either!
