Odd job to post I think, they have 2000 Technical Marketing Analyst (pilots) flying every day. All they have to do is ask us.
smirk.gif

I think I might have to apply.

Oh man, you busted my cover. It used to be an anonymous airplane in an anonymous hangar.

You free-spirited pilot types don't want to sit in an office overlooking I-270, now, do you?

I meet all their requirements (except for the college degree which is only a mere couple of months away). Why do they require a PPL? Any flying involved at all? What is the $$$$ like? It looks like a pretty sweet job.

No flying. I'm glad they want someone with at least "a little" airplane knowledge.....It's great having to straighten out an owner that a sales guy told, "You bet Sir....No problem, the Ultra can fly non-stop, Westbound in the winter, with 8 pax out of East Hampton to LAX!"

I was in Easton over the weekend and let me just say after driving by the Net Jets building, it looks like a great place to work. I wanna be a pilot or work on the bussniues side of an airline. As some one mentioned, what is the pay like? $$$$

Good Day

I have to speak up for my department. We have a lot of airplane knowledge in the department. Our whole job is to know airplanes. [One of] our tasks(s) is to try to inform the sales guys before they oversell performance. But we can only answer what we are asked - we don't know all that goes on in the sales field.

It's a good job. I won't talk about the salary since that's not really my place; you'll have to apply to find out. It'll depend on past experience, etc.

Secretapproach.... I E-mailed the corp. recruiting department regarding the position. My only problem is that I don't graduate until August. However, I meet the rest of their requirements. I manage an FBO on the weekends at the Toledo Express Airport and deal with NetJets on a daily basis.

In any event, it seems like a great job and I am eager to hear what kind of response I get to my E-mail. I will graduate in August with a B.S. in Marketing and I hold my Commercial ASEL/AMEL, and CFI certificates. I'm right up the road at Bowling Green State University too.... seems like an awesome opportunity! Do you guys do a lot of travel? What is the total compensation/benefits package like? I'll keep you posted as to what happens!

CaptChris, check your PMs. We travel occasionally but not extremely often. Usually it's to a static aircraft display to help in giving tours of the airplanes - they're fun.

I didn't mean to belittle the department (which one is it by the way?). I didn't know there was an analysis department already. Nice to know it's already there. Now.....get those guys in shape, will ya!

All I can speak from is the many sales demos I have done over the years. The accuracy of the aircraft perf data that the salesmen use is grossly exaggerated. Most demo flights I have done, do not even have a salesperson present.

No....the Citation X will NOT fly mach .92, coast to coast westbound, in the winter, off a contaminated runway. HPN-ASE ain't gonna happen ('til Spring).

I didn't take what you said in a bad way - sorry if I sounded short. Yeah, our department is there just to provide accurate information to sales and marketing so we are in touch with people in every part of the business at one point or another.

The X won't do M0.92 all the time no matter what? I've been telling people M1.92 - guess I misunderstood something. I'll have to break out the manual and see where I went wrong. I had also heard that you can take off straight up and climb direct to FL600. Don't tell me that's not true, either!

Well only if were aren't in the Northeast, Midwest, or West coast.

Honestly, the most often asked question is. "How often do you REALLY fly it at .92?"
Answer: Hardly ever.
"That's what I thought."
Answer: But we fly .91 EVERY leg.

Are you guys still having the maint. problems with the X?? When I was still working at the red headed step-company down the road at LUK, for about 3 months straight every time we flew a charter it was to cover a trip for a broken down X. I guess I shouldn't make comments about maint. problems unless I have the dispatch rate for the entire X fleet but it just seemed like they were in the hangar an awful lot.

Jason

PS - We can go coast to coast(either direction) any day of the year non-stop

Long live the mighty 604.

I'm not in maintenance, but I do know that we have more reliable airplanes than the X. There - how's that for diplomacy?
