hey everyone, my brother just got his dispatcher certificate and is currently looking to get his first job in the industry. Just looking for any tips to find a job or if you know anyone who is hiring it would be much appreciated. He currently lives in Phoenix and would like to stay there but is also willing to move. Currently he has little experience in the field and no degree if that info helps. Thanks again everyone

He should just keep his eyes open and apply for every single opening. Do you have any friends who fly for regionals? If so they may be able to shoot an email to the dispatch manager or HR providing a letter of rec. Not sure how much it will help, but it certainly can't hurt.

The pilot mills in PHX are always looking for "dispatchers",but they really are more like receptionists

Getting your first job in dispatch is not as easy as some make it sound. Sure, everyone has different experiences, but the months and months of interviewing was exhausting..

Ameriflight has a base in phx but they dont often have openings. I know they only have 2 dx spots there but those two are looking to get an atc spot. May be worth keeping an eye on them

Just don't feel sorry for him. He's remedial.

Send this link to your brother and have him check often for postings. As far as I have ever found, it seems to be the most thorough search available.

https://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=FAA+Dispatcher&l=

It's a keyword search, so there will be some postings that may not be applicable, but it's a great start.

In my experience the first job was the most challenging one to get. Getting hired by a major isn't a cakewalk either, of course, but at least by the time you apply at them you're already working, so it doesn't feel like you're just job-hunting full time and waiting for callbacks.

As they say, it's easier to get a job if you already have a job.
