Plus, I'm happy we aren't allowed to carry pets. We've had too many pilots mistakenly blow the cargo bottles because the cargo cooling fan shut down, which would have killed any animals in back.

In dealing with this on the ramp I never saw this as a problem, actually it was a bit of a break to go over and see the little pup/cat. They were usually sedated when departing though. And the drivers were always told (and signed for along with Hazmat/DG) the animal was in the back, heat on, lights on.

But...seeing the bills attached to the kennel-ain't no way I'd spend that.
 
I've just seen too many kennels sitting in carts out on a 90 degree ramp, with dogs inside panting away like crazy. Almost like the pet was a afterthought.
