Near Mid-air collision between a B737 and a BPIAA CJ1!

I was there long enough to see that I wasn't going to get the multi time I was promised I was going to get. There were alot of things I liked about Pan Am too however. If I were a brand spanking new 22 year old CFI with <squat> for total time it would be a dream come true. I really doubt anyone wanted to "kick my ass" for leaving. If you are someone who actually knew me then you know how little work we did there. We didn't have the opprotunity to do our jobs because of all the <junk> with ATC and the military. It wouldn't have mattered if I would have given notice and sat around for another 3 months and not flown. I left because I did what was best for me. I always put my own needs ahead of the company. They do the same stupid. Do you think for one second that you would still have a job there tommorrow if the Chinese could find a way to replace you with a Chinese instructor for one tenth the cost of what they pay you? How much jet time do you have now? In the next few years, who do you think will have more doors open to them? Me or you? If you wanna be a martyr go ahead. Don't attempt to bust <on me> for bettering myself and my career.

I spent half a year there. I couldnt agree more with Toonces here.
 
I agree with GINO.
But is good to stick to a job and is even better if you finish the contract.
The truth is that PanAm was on breach of contract from the day you step in China so I understand why people that have better opportunities leave.
Who is insuring those CJ? Because by CCAR's have to be insured. Or is that another thing that is going to be "done by the book" PAT and in reality swept under the rug.
 
I guess I would like to know what areas of the "contract" with the instructors that Beijing Panam is breaching. As I said MANY time before, I have always had sympathy for the original instructors (prior to Oct. 2005) who came based on the "promises" of the company or the recruiter.

Essentially, the contract promises pay and benefits and sets forth conditions for leaving plus does promise higher pay in the future for those that stay.

Yes, I am back in the USA now. But I do not know for how long. I left Beijing PanAm at the end of January. I still hope to go back to China and work in another capacity there, but I do not have a firm deal yet. In the meantime, I am also talking to other training operators here, expecially those involved in the training of Chinese students. I'm also just enjoying being able to spend some quality time with my family. I stopped for 10 days in the Philippines on my way back. That allowed me to spend more time than ever with my family there. And I can actually now spend some time in the house my wife and bought in Florida last fall. The honey do list is growing and I am loving it!

No matter where I end up, I will still try to attend the next NJC. No matter what, I will still be in the industry and still want to help others make the right choices. And, of course, I still want to meet you and Doug in person after all these years of just meeting in cyberspace!
