Does anybody know how hard it may be to get an instructor job in either the Raliegh-Durham area or in Charlotte? Im thinking of moving down to NC next year and would like to instruct down there.
I am from the Raleigh area and there isn't anything at all. RDU has one flight school (other than ATP) on the field that is pretty fat on instructors. And the area airports around RDU ( +/- 50 NM) seem to have an airplane or two associated with the FBO on the field, but not enough student clientele to make money/flight time to justify the trip back and forth.
I am not too familiar with the charlotte area, but I know they have a lot more General Aviation opportunities near them. Concord Regional is basically the G.A. hub for the Charlotte area and there are many other flying clubs and flight schools around there.
Hope this helps. If you find something and they need a few instructors......LET ME KNOW!
