Navy pilots get spanked for fly-over

I didn't think AF was welcome over there on the Dark Side.

They certainly are, provided everyone takes off their baseops hats before entering :) I think they even gave Hacker and HuggyU2 some silver wings to put above their avatars as well

They're very tolerant and welcoming of people who are able to make legitimate additions to the discussion. Just like BaseOps, they're very intolerant of assclownery. AW has a lot stricter adherence to rank/experience and customs/courtesies than BaseOps does.

Although we blue-service folks have to wade through a large amount of service bias over there, there are some great topics and discussions.

I let most of the standard AF bashing go (if I didn't, I'd spend all of my time over there in a big defensive threat reaction), but speak up when they're legitimately off base about topics that matter.

I do find it interesting that the USN folks do a lot more intra-service bashing than I've seen in the USAF.

.

Baseops has been falling into that customs/courtesies crap too. The Deid thread used to actually be entertaining, until everyone started holding their guns when some poster came on stating he was a Sq/CC, and then posts began getting started with "Sir" this and "Sir" that. Prior to his coming out with that, it was the standard call-it-like-someone-feels. I'm not saying we shouldn't be civil to one another, but having deference to rank in a customs/courtesies sense because one feels they should have to, on some random private forum as if we're in a squadron or some crap like that, is plain stupid IMHO.
