Navigating a plane by touchscreen

What are the guys that have to wipe every gauge face and screen down before each leg to remove every fingerprint going to do? Have an aneurysm?

Considering I have to make a second pass on cleaning the aircraft of greasy captain prints, that resemble what is left behind by a black bear. I can hardly imagine the human factor nightmare that touch screen will cause. I'll have a brain aneurism.

I've got a fair bit of time in the G2000 with the Garmin touchscreen FMS unit. I'd grade it as easy if not easier than the G1000 to operate in turbulence. The bezel is pretty easy to grip while poking around, and the buttons are fairly large. I think touchscreen will be the way of the future--it cleans up the cockpit a ton and simplifies a lot of common tasks. Plus, chicks dig the TTx even more than they dig beta.

Dear god no. My plane has absolutely no touchscreen controls. Yet there are still greasy fingerprints all over every display.

What dumb SOB is like "look..25,000ft" *touches display with all 5 fingers and wipes a greasy hand print for at least an inch.

Seriously...there is zero need to touch a non touchscreen display.
