Navajo down at Laredo Int'l — 3 Dead

Smoke from an engine on a Jo...I’ll take neglected exhaust system for $200 or someone fooling with a fuel pump for $400, trebek.

Video is down? Hopeful we can get it again, one of the legacies these crashes have is when I can show a text book Vmc roll to a multi engine student. (And the impact it has on their approach to the training)
RIP to the unlucky ones.

Available if you search it up on youtube.

F them -> EEC for adding dramatic music and plugging there subscription. Totally uncalled for.

No doubt! after seeing the 747 crash after takeoff I had a friend say to me, "wanna watch the video man!"

Watching an airplane crash on Youtube is mild compared to witnessing it firsthand. The one thing that stands out about those memories is the absolute quiet immediately following an impact, every time, except one, you could've heard a pin drop.

These are a few of mine.

Importance of checklists and flows:

Weight and balance matters, even in jets:

It's not very often I sit thru a recurrent without talking about that challenger in TEB. It's also the source of a good discussion on operational control.

Oh yeah, that event created operational control.

Every 135 oral should sound like this:

“What is operational control?”

“The certificate holder’s ability to initiate, conduct & terminate.... basically to prevent Platinum Jet from happening again.”
