Natural disaster SOC ops

So Matthew has me genuinely curious how situations like this are handled with regards to SOC ops. I've been through snow ops, etc. but never evacuation and hurricane ops. If any Spirit folks are here to chime in, what's the plan? Hunker down? Sandbags? Do you have a Prepper closet full of Chunky Soup and saltines? Is your backup facility in Fort Myers? I know Southwest built their new facility for major storm situations, but I'm guessing most other airlines have not.
 
3M has a back-up OPS center at MCO, but it is business as usual at FLL today - at least for us. The rest of the airport is like a ghost town. With the track of the storm it was decided to keep operations as is.

Both AA and SWA have tornado-rated buildings in Dallas. One of my friends is working on construction of the new AA facility that is EF-5 rated with backup generators for power supply and phone/internet connections via satellite.

Typical 3M. Everyone else is canceling and running for the hills, but they are business as usual.

When Sandy hit NYC, they proactively got us hotel rooms near our office/SOC for the thin crew they'd need since a majority of the operation was cancelled. They also sent crew to our offices on the West coast and in Florida as a contingency. Now we have a backup center located out on Long Island that is essentially a bunker.

Long Island? Another interesting choice. I would think White Plains or some place North would be a better choice.

I don't know. I grew up on Long Island. The worst hurricane in the world won't affect the middle of the island. Worse comes to worse you dodge some tree on the LIE on your way there.

It's run by a business partner and the building literally is like a bunker. They have a lot of other businesses (mainly from Manhattan) that also have their back-up facilities there.
 
Universal had their operations in a structure built to sustain through a class 3 hurricane at KHOU. It worked well through Hurricane Ike (and Rita before that). However, the company has moved into a pretty building next door to NASA/JSC with zero hurricane protection. The action plan is an off site location in Austin and Dallas. The whole company picks up and moves to one of the "away" sites.
 
NCR SOC, based in MCO, evacuated during Matthew. Their "bug out" location is in Buffalo, NY. A friend of mine was one of the team that went up.
